Employer: Pequea Valley (PA) School District
Title: Director of Student Services (13 years)
What is the most rewarding aspect of your work?
The most rewarding aspect of my role is collaborating with families and district staff to support our students. Many students arrive at school facing significant barriers and additional stressors, and it is deeply meaningful to be part of a dedicated student services team that works collectively to remove those obstacles, support academic success, and ensure students feel safe, supported, and valued while at school.
I am equally passionate about partnering with families, particularly during times when resources may feel limited. Whether connecting them with community agencies, mental health services, or housing supports, it is a privilege to walk alongside families as they navigate challenges. Each day, it is truly an honor to serve and to make a positive and lasting impact in the lives of others.
What is the greatest benefit of being a NAPSA member?
My membership in the National Association of Pupil Services is a benefit because it connects me with a network of professionals who share a common goal of removing barriers and improving outcomes for all learners. It helps me stay informed on current practices, and grow meaningful, student-centered supports in our district.
