Title: Director of Student Services
What is the most rewarding aspect of your work?
The most rewarding aspect of my position is knowing that the work directly changes the trajectory of students’ lives, especially those facing significant challenges. Unlike many positions that focus primarily on academics, Student Services sits at the intersection of education, equity, wellness, and opportunity. Every day, the role influences whether students receive the support they need to succeed academically, socially, emotionally, and personally. The Student Services teams knit careful and intentional structures that meet students where they are and create safe and supportive environments for students to maximize potential and create futures of possibilities.
What is the greatest benefit of being a NAPSA member?
Belonging to a national organization such as NAPSA grants access to a professional network and collective expertise that helps to better serve students, staff, and families. While the conferences, resources and publications are valuable, the real advantage is the connection to colleagues across the country who face similar challenges and opportunities. We can combine efforts to stay ahead of emerging issues, address complex situations involving school climate, mental health, regulatory changes, and policy solutions. Our combined voice in advocacy for students likewise further the causes that support student well-being, access and success.
