Title: Director of Educational Services. This is my 30th year in education and my 24th year in an administrative role.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your work?
What I find most rewarding is helping put supports in place so students, families, and staff feel steady and supported instead of overwhelmed. Throughout my career, I’ve worked side by side with teams to address complex situations, many of which come with strong emotions and real urgency. Being able to bring clarity, calm, and a collaborative approach to those situations, while keeping students at the center, is what makes the work meaningful to me. I also appreciate the opportunity to support educators as they build confidence in their work, knowing that strong systems and strong relationships can truly change outcomes for kids.
What is the greatest benefit of being a NAPSA member?
The NAPSA provides a professional community that understands the realities of pupil services leadership. Connecting with colleagues who are navigating the same legal, ethical, and interpersonal challenges is incredibly helpful. NAPSA offers perspective and practical insight that I can take back to my work right away. It is a place where experience is shared openly and professional judgment is respected, and that support matters.
